Looks sharp with good feather details, nice pose with blurred wing that imply motion, and beautiful background too. I might go for a bit tighter crop.

Hi gary - looking good!! Nice HA!!! and eye contact - BG compliments the bird well.
Flash looks about right - not so much negative space needed up front - IMHO.
    Lovely!!

Like the second crop, maybe a tad tighter.

Gary, did you use Manuel Flash - what settings (e.g., 1/16 etc.).

Thanks Bob! Yes, this one was actually backing away from a feeder, I think I caught her on the stop heading back in. I try to get them near the flowers bit they seem to be liking the feeders a little more right now. Shot with a 500 mm and cropped. Jeff happened to be almost right on the flash. If I remember right it was 1/16 - 0.7 on manual settings. But, I tested that on practice shots of the flowers and see it it too much or to little and make the adjustments. 580 EX II with a better beamer. Shooting from the master bedroom window with the screen off and sitting in my recliner sipping on a cup of coffee waiting for the arrival, very cushy.:D Background is a white flowering dogwood about 15 feet back. Oh, a couple of hanging baskets by with red flowers will certainly help. Hopefully get a few sipping from the flowers in the couple of weeks. Have a great one! Gary.

    Gary,

Nice setup and very smart to prefocus and test flash in advanced, really nice work - keep em coming!

    Gary:

Nice flash work, well angled, sharp, well exposed. Since there is a natural catchlight, I would clone out the flash one. Now if you can just keep from falling asleep while you are waiting. Don't get too comfy.

    Like the second crop better.

    Cheers

    Randy
