Here the friendly staff member at the Alligator Farm fishes out a Gitzo out of the gator infested waters yesterday afternoon.

Watch your stuff when you're there ....fortunately no camera or lens was attached.

How did a tripod end up in the water?

    Great timing!

James, one of the photographers had folded up his tripod while he hand holded his gear, and leaned it against the railing. Someone bumped into it and splash into the water. Fortunately, he had no camera or lens attached to it.

Wow - That reminds me of dropping my Benelli Super Black Eagle shotgun in a lake a few years ago while duck hunting. I found it with my feet, fished it out and it worked perfect the rest of the day. Italian craftsmanship.......!

Glad that the staff member could pull it out. serves as a good reminder for us to watch our gear.

Saw it go in the water and it was tense !!! It was not all that crowded but just takes one bump !! Second that I've seen hit the water .. the other had a camera and 500 attached (not at the farm) but clearly bumped by passer by !!

... btw the person fishing the tripod is Jim, one of the nicest person at the Farm ... and everybody there is "supper nice" !!!
