This was taken in Kruger last year, and I thought a B&W version would work.

    Hi Stuart

Would like to have seen all of the reflection in, plus I feel that one Zebra would have been better, as the second just clutters the comp, a simple, yet effective image then. One Zebra, head down drinking with the reflection... :)

Nice bit of catchlight in the eyes and shooting at midday may have helped push this towards the contrasty B/W. ;)

If you use the black eye dropper in Curves, click on the almost black hind leg near the water, the image then pops. Might also like to save it as a Greyscale rather than RGB, as there is no real colour in the image, then Save for Web in the usual manner as it will create an sRGB file for web.

BTW EXIF date shows ISO 282????

Thanks for your input Steve, and here is my repost with your suggestion. I had seen on the exif of the saved image that the ISO was 282, and have no idea why it recorded it as such. I looked at the exif on the original, and it is ISO 400.
With regards to the reflection, unfortunately I did not include any more than what we can see in the image. At the time of shooting, I didnt consider it clear enough to make an impact on the overall image.

    Hi Stuart,
The reason why the reflection became prominent in the original post is because when you convert into black and white the deep blacks stand out in the reflection. In the repost the reflection is less prominent.

A slight crop from the left would help in avoiding a white/grey object on the left frame.

From their size, I thought they were mother and child.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

I like the reflection and water everywhere.
Also agree with Steve about composition with two. Their backs and manes merge which for me confuses things.

I would have gone for the complete opposite here and done a close-up on the heads for a graphic juxtaposition.
