Sorting through some old files I came across this one taken back in 2004 with our first digital camera, the old Fuji S2. I had forgotten how small the files were and not being a raw capture, not much to be done. But I think the Nik Bi-Color filter has given it an interesting lift. C&C very welcome.

Hilary, I love the composition and the water colors are great-like liquid gold. I might add a touch more contrast to the coot. Nice action captured.:)

    Nice image and application.

I might have cropped out the top, the darkest red area that is OOF in the ULC. It would have the ripples coming out of the ULC of the image. Other than that and the age of the image, as you said, not much can be probably be done.

Hi Hilary, I really like the composition and action. Great pose and water colors. I only wish that the bird stood out more from the water and had sharper details.

Thanks everyone, great suggestions. I won't repost as I don't think the original warrants it but it gives me ideas for future images. I've testing out various filters before buying so I may put up some other old pix just to see what they can do for me.

Hilary, I just have to laugh when I view this image. Wonderful timing with the water spray and outstreched legs. Every time I see coots trying to take off... I just want to give them a BOOST!
