Hey Tim, Big time welcome and thanks a ton for your membership support. The bird is cracking sharp. Did you use flash for the original capture? I would be interested in the lens and camera that you used and to learn the location.

I agree that the bird is too tight but I have another idea. Since our eyes are drawn to the lighter areas in an image I would love to see the BKGR flopped, with the yellow on the top and the bird smaller.

BTW, how did you extract the bird?; you did a superb job of that.

No flash just a second sun you get in composites :D.
Bird extraction by the new wonders of CS5.
Lens = 300mm F/2.8 nikkor with 1.7TC on a D300s
Will try your suggestions.

Use quick selection to select unwanted area, select inverse, then click refine edge and tinker, plenty
of utube shows on how to.
