    Default Spoonbill Landing

Shot taken this morning, right before landing. Feet were inches from the ground, wings were open.
Comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

    Hi Troy,

Great eye contact he has his eye on you! love the Low angle and wing position, one of the best spoonbills i have seen on here so far :)

Love the big back lit wings.
    Feet are inches above ground?
If you had not told me what was happening, I would have guessed at like - stuck in mud? and trying to free itself? ready for flight from rock? in the gulf oil spill? poor thing?
Sorry, perhaps it is because I simply don't know enough about the landing techniques of spoonbills?

    Tom,
Yes, the feet were inches from touching ground. I don't know much about their landing techniques too except the most I saw are always landing on the rookery.

Look like it is giving you a welcome bow, love the sharpness, the details, the low angle, the curvy in the ground leading into the background. Just wish the feet are a bit more above the ground for landing shot.

Hi Troy, OK..I see it now. Soft light along with good detail and wing position. The image is sharp with a muted backround. I might get rid of the small white areas to the left of the birds head. Good job!
