This is one from this evening. These Barn Swallows are pretty tough to photograph, I wish their flight patterns were less erratic. :) The bird was flying low above a pond.

The fact that you got a sharp one with the big lens is impressive in itself. I tried the same thing yesterday for an hour and gave up. Congrats. :)

You can say that again! They are very hard birds to capture in-flight. Excellently done here, nice simple pose and background.

    Hi Axel

These are a tough subject to photograh and I am impressed you managed to lock on with the 1.4TC attached which tends to slow down AF. I have only attempted these on a couple of occasions on a really windy day when they have been slowed down by a head wind but it was still very difficult even then. Even more impresssive is that you caught the bird with a good wing position.

    Cheers

Axel, an excellent capture here, as these guys are extemely fast. I like the flying posture, and the colours on the swallow look good. Overall nice sharp, and stands out nicely against the water BG.

Super capture. These guys are too fast for me. The head detail is great.

tough shot to get with the TC, did very well and excellent wing position on top of that. looks very good overall, I saw some color noise/grain in the dark areas, cleaned it up

Thanks for the repost, looks good. I didn't run any NR and lightened the wing a bit.
