    Default Not Sure Of Comp

I photographed this little beauty while in Asheville, NC last week. It had just picked up lunch (at the drive thru) and stopped on this great perch (at least I think it is). Is this perch too overwhelming? Does it take too much of the frame? I have another in front of the bird house I'll post later. Canon 1D MK IV, EF100-400mm f/4.6-5.6L, 400mm (520mm), F/5.6, 1/640 sec, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB, No Flash. Image Cropped. Comments Welcome.....

Hi Richard - interesting image - im a little torn with this one - like it but find the perch tends to attract my attention more than the bird - probably because its a dark colour on a bright BG.
Like the bird and the food is a bonus.

Hi Richard -I love the detail on the bird and the take-out lunch but think that the statue is overwhelming and drawing the attention. I think I'd rather see a tight crop on the bird but it is a tough call.

Hi Richard....I vote for the perch being too overwhelming in the frame.

Agree that the perch is more dominant than the bird, but I find it well composed overall though Richard.

    Hi Richard,
Reading all the other comments; just wanted to say; this works for me just fine. Bird with food stands out immediately, and love it's choice of perch, adds a lot of interest. Good composition.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Usually the comp would be "A Bird on a Perch", but I think this time it's "A Bird and a Perch".
