These are 'Big Old Units' normally covered in the orange/red sand, giving a reddish colouring to their bodies, as I think Hilary as seen a while back. When it rains they move further up and away, as they do not like slippy soil under foot. Taken later part of the afternoon about 4-5.00pm if I remember correctly.

As it seems that B/W is more sympathetic to these guys I will follow the trend, but may post the colour if required.

Hi Steve, you have done very well with regards to sharpness with your slow ss. I like the overall tone in this, and Im sure others may want to tweak the image. I wouldnt change a thing. Super comp, and I like the head on angle. Well captured.

B&W works beautifully with this one, Steve. I like the hide textures and pop of the tusk. The OOF herd and acacia in the BG really set the scene. Might just slightly tone down the tusk in the BG.

the wealth of textures and lines on ellie's skins make them prime subjects for B&W - you converted this nicely Steve. agree on toning down the tusk and suggest a rotation as it seems he's leaning to the RHS?
