I photographed this sunrise in the Mara North Conservancy earlier this year but I've cheated a little and added the leopard silhouette from a photo I took a couple of days later where there was no sunrise. This is the image I really wanted, with an animal in it (I'd have been happy with a giraffe or any other noticeable silhouette) so this is my sunrise 'dream' photo. Don't want anyone to think I really struck gold!! :p

I like it very much. Maybe one day you can return and get the shot you want without having to add the silhouette. I know that will bring more satisfaction!
Hilary,
Before reading your text, I was thinking that the Sun is a distraction at the bottom. :D
I would have like to see the Sun to be a bit lower. I would like the see the leopard silhoutte without the sunrise as well. :-) What a traquil feeling! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Hilary, I wouldn't have guessed you added the leopard either. Appreciate you telling us what you did.
I like the image very much and wouldn't change a thing. Simple, yet very strong. Handled very well technically.
Good job!!
this would have been pure gold, but your excellent processing skills has turned it into only a lesser gold. lovely simplistic shot - I too want to see the original leopard silhouette shot?
Hi Hilary,
That might be everyones dream shot......mine is either an elephant or giraffe! Nice job adding the leopard silhouette.....colors are also very ice but will add one more tech thing you may want to try next time out......sacrifice much of the SS for more DOF.....why?......as you stop down to f13-22.....that sun will turn into a sunburst! May just add another dimension and easy enough to try both ways! Very nicely done overall!
I forgot to post my leopard silhouette which was requested by a couple of you. Here it is, no pp. Of course it is a different tree, I extracted only the leopard.
