    Noticed the wildlife forum was sitting at 3999 threads so I thought I'd throw one out to break the barrier. Hope no one else posts before I do! Waited and hoped that this guy would cross into the darker band of grasses so his shadow would darken it even more. He was taking his time and browsing while the morning sun was getting higher. 40D, 1-400L @ 400mm, f6.3, 1/800s, ISO 400, monopod, cropped a bit from top and left (as viewed).

    Hi Steve, animals have their own time, you should know that. Good looking fellow, and I like the light on him - brings out the coat nicely. Good to see that the grass is not obscuring him, and I like different colours of the grass.

    lovely mage for no 4000,
    would suggest to crop a little off the top, to loose orange band...

    I think more of a crop at the top would make the bison too close to the edge. The orange looks good to me.
