This was taken on a rather overcast day, but I was pleased with the result. What do you guys think?

    C&C welcome!

    Josiah:

    Nice soft light, pleasant background.

The bird looks a little soft to me. I might also consider cropping down from the top, perhaps 1/3 of the frees space above the bird.

Looks like there may some cloning/processing marks along the bottom of the perch by the small twig.

Might consider burning in the brighter reflective top of perch to left of bird.

I like the leaf, but in a perfect world, would hope the foot wasn't blocked by it.

It helps with the critiques to post at full allowed size, so 1024 horz. by 800 vert. Helps show off your bird better :)

    Cheers

Randy has some good comments. I would echo the bird is a little too centred for my taste. For these kind of shots (vertical crops) I try to put bird up higher in the frame -- maybe put the eye 1/3 from the top. Gives it an illusion of height. A little brighter and more sharpening would help. I like the natural light and pose.
