I used the Orton effect and then Topaz clean2 on this early morning scene. C&C welcome.

I really like this, Dan - lots of mood and depth to the image. The dark areas frame it well and the KF is a great focal point. Well spotted and well processed.

Sweet Dan! Very moody and I love the colours. The kingfisher is the perfect size in the frame.

Dan, The watercolor feel and the mood are conveyed very nicely. I love the muted colors. There is one small spot at the LR that I might evict before print. Well done.:) Nice to see you visit. Hey, How about an Asian week again?

As others have noted - there is a depth to the image. I like the smallness of the bird against the vastness of the background. A hint of fog (for me - as I think in images like this, everyone is able to see things differently and come away with an individual experience) helps with a mood that isolates the viewer and helps to create a one-on-one with the scene.
    Appreciated photo.

    Nice image and application, Dan.

Like the BG in the image. Very interesting.

I second Denise's theme suggestion. I was going to write her after your last post here! Always an enjoyable experience. Hope you agree to do another. ;) :D

Dan, I love everything about this. The composition is perfect, the light and the depth are gorgeous and I like
    what Topaz added.:)

Thanks all for nice comments! I will have to evict that dark blob! As for another Asian theme week, maybe sometime this summer. I will have to check my busy unemployed schedule!!:p
