Default Alien lurking in the hills

This view is over Mirror Lake, South Island, New Zealand. The odd thing is when you turn the image 90 degs clockwise you get to see an alien!

    Olympus E-400; 1/500; f/3.5; ISO 100; FL 14mm (4/3 so 28mm EFL).

Hi Phil, Interesting alien observation...image has good lighting with interesting subject matter. In this case I don't feel the foreground greenery is helping the image. It appears to be merging and blocking what is a very nice reflection. I would have preferred seeing more of the reflection than the foliage...

I agree with Dave. Moving the camera more to the left would have been good. A narrow aperture would have been good as well. I wish for calm water.

    Hi Phil,
Agree with Dave's suggestions above.....I will add, if the area is close to you....try revisiting this earlier or later in the day....the lower light angle will add much more depth and drama to the image. Just some food for thought for next time out.
