Took this shot today. The light was fading and thought it would be a good time to put the high iso capabilities of the 7d to use. The only things done to the image were a 50% crop, curves adjustment, and selective sharpening. Let me know what you think. ( I know it looks blurred towards the back of the head, its a blurred branch this is just a quick edit)

Great calling pose, Peter. I think the OOF surrounds work well but would try a selective contrast adjustment to minimize the effect on the head. Flash can be risky with intervening foliage as it tends to blow it too bright but you seem to have got away with it here. That red eye is a great focal point.

Tony make a very good suggestion about the local contrast that I subscribe. I like the play of th eout of focus and sharp areas a lot. The image is clean and sharp where it counts. What do you think about some toning down of the image? :)

Thanks for the feedback, I'll have to go over it again and play with the contrast and such. As for toning the image down, I want the bird to pop as much as possible, but I will also play around with that as well.
