    Default Brown Pelican

Shot this from a boat, pretty far away from a full frame camera.
What do you call this type of behavior of the Brown Pelican? Angle could have been a bit better.

    Comments and critiques are welcome.

Impressive head toss, Troy. I think the colours of FG and BG work well to frame the pelican and I like the diagonal of the pose. I would probably work at a higher base ISO with the D3s (400-800) to gain more SS or DOF depending on the image.

    Thanks, Tony.
The light was getting a bit harsh, perhaps I could have gone a bit higher on ISO and get the higher DOF.

Love the timing and framing of the action Troy. I agree with Tony about the ISO

    Troy:

One of those images you have to stare at for a bit to make sense of it.

I certainly agree with Tony. With the D3s, you have lots of ISO flexibility, and unless I was in a very specific situation, where I know there was not going to be any motion involved, I would use a higher base ISO.

Perhaps a bit more sharpening on the eye?

    Cheers

    Noted, guys.
First time shooting from the boat, quite an experience. Get frustrated at times. :)
