I intentionally overexposed this backlit heron and its nest to come up with a silhouette look. I don't usually experiment much, but I thought this turned out pretty cool. Does it work?

Hi Bryan, I like this silhouette look. I would have preferred a vertical perch but that's just me. Well seen and executed! TFS.

Bryan, I think I agree w/ Indranil regarding the perch. It looks like the image needs a rotation as the top of the nest seems crooked-could be an illusion but I rotated it and straightened the perch. Let me know your thoughts.:)

Thanks Denise. I like yours better. The camera was level, so the dead tree was leaning, but your adjustment works very well.

Hi Bryan, I think this works very nicely. It has a nice simple, graphic look that is quite interesting. Very nice silhouettes of the bird and nest.

I like the way this looks and Denise's re-post is the way I would go with it-but if I did'nt see the re-post I would still like it.

Love the concept and the execution: dramatic. Those dead trees are not always square to the world... I would however, crop from the right to bring the nest tree in from the corner. I's like both versions then. :)
