Today I was photographing a school group outing at Allens Pond Mass Audubon Sanctuary, when the children discovered this killdeer pretending to be on nest to protect its nest real position. I was using only my 18-105 lens. I was on my belly and crawled up to get c/u. this picture was taken on my knees. it was taken in program mode since I did not change from what I was using.

Great to get an opportunity with such a short lens, Myer - pebbles show the habitat well - pity about the bungee cord flotsam in front of the bird. Hope it's real nest was safe.
