Looks a little saturated to me Leo? Personally would have kept the spiders web in, but if it was only small then...

Leo, love these fairy wrens although ours in South Australia are slightly different and I know how difficult it is to get them to stop for more than a second. I like the chestnut mask around the eyes but Steve may be right about the saturation as the bird does look a richer colour than any I've seen. Very nice image.

    Thanks Steve and Hilary.
No saturation was added. Levels, curves and a couple of points of black added to whites and neutrals in Selective Color. All as per Artie's Digital Basics.

I have attached the unprocessed image which shows the tiny piece of spider web which appeared suspended in mid air due to the lighting.

Lovely bird with a perfect pose, awesome BG, good perch. I do wish the tail was in better condition though. Good call in getting rid of the web - it wasn't worth keeping in this case.

Thanks for the plug Leo :) As is apparent when viewing the image, simply doing adjusting the tonality of an image can lead to increases in Saturation. There are some images where one or more colors needed to be desaturated right out of the camera. Here I would prefer something half way between the original post and the original capture as far as warmth.

As for the image, it is superb: love, the pose, the perch, the BKGR, and the perfect head angle. Way to go!

Thankyou all for the taking the time to look and comment. Much appreciated.

As suggested by Artie here is a version somewhere between the raw capture and the OP.

Wonderful re-post Leo. BTW, thank you for doing such a great service to the little females of this species, everyone likes to concentrate on the males and their brilliant plumage forgetting the delicate beauty of these girls.

Wonderful capture, I especially like the head-turn, warm light and shared tones of bird, perch and background.

Hi Leo! Seen this one before....:P A great shot, the pose is excellent as is the setting. I agree that the colours in the originally posted one were a bit strong and over-orange but the last repost is a lot better in that regard. Love it! Now we just need the male...lol
