This poor Egret landed a little too close to a hungry gator at the SAAF.The gator swam across the lagoon from an area in the shade to another area in bright sun light, the action was quick and i failled to change the compensation, some of the whites are a little hot:)

    Hi Adam,
Nice catch. A higher shutter speed would have been great. You can easily bump up the ISO with the Mark IV. Ofcourse, if you get the time. Look forward to other compositions. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Hi Adams, I really liked the lines in the water around the gator, as well as the colour and textures in the water. Nice picture. TFS

Hi Adams In all the times I've been there have never seen a bird get nailed !!! Excellent catch and like how you got him with all green water ... must have been on the left side of the tree close to the boardwalk half way down !!

Make sure and enter the image, those seem to do well in the contest. A couple of years ago the winner had one with a spoonbill in the gators mouth ... all you could see were the stretched wings !!

    Hello Adams,

Nice image ;) It all happened rather quickly and I am glad you got the shot. I also think the gator in the lighter green water was the best in the sequence taken.

And, Congrat's on your First Place Bird Festival image!

    Great seeing you again.

    Hi Alfred,
The gator got the egret on the west side of the boardwalk, he went under water and a few minutes later he surfaced on the main lagoon, i was able to get a few images before he went under again.
