Found this lone magnificent frigatebird near a brown pelican rookery in the Everglades back in January. It was an overcast day, I did not have a flash, but liked the stark black and white of it.
Sony a700, 70-400mm lens
f5.6, 1/250, ISO800, 300mm, vertical handheld from canoe. Tried to use as fast a shutter speed as possible without too much ISO noise.
Thank you for looking.
Connie
I like the high key look and the perfect head angle. You could easily eliminate the slim branch that is poking the bird in the back. It might work well as a vertical pano. Lastly, you could blacken the blacks a bit while at the same time lightening the face. :)

Connie, I like the high-key BG and agree that the blacks could go blacker. I also might evict the bottom twig if it were mine. This would also make a cool silhouette.:)
