    When in profile, this crane's eyes are yellow - and when looking straight on, they change to this orange color

    1/640 at f8 and ISO400 EC +1/3
    Bigma at 500mm

    Nice head shot Scott. A boost in contrast would improve this image. Fill flash would have helped with the harsh light. The head angle is a little awkward to me as I would prefer either just one eye showing or both showing, but one and a half is always awkward to me.

    I agree with above comments, and I wonder if more dof so more of the beak in focus could improve this as well.

    Alan gave some excellent advice here. This image would be much stronger with a contrast boost.
