This was taken down in Tortuguero which is on the Caribbean coast. It is beautiful rainforest and one travels the canals in search of wildlife . We came across this little swallow and were able to get fairly close before it flew off. It is still a fair crop but felt it was worth posting as it is such a beautiful bird.

The light is constantly changing and you really have to be quick to get your settings right. A wonderful experience and so beautiful.

    Hi Judy Lynn,

Love the lookback pose on this beautiful Swallow.
A tough exposure situation with a contrasty bird on a dark background with what looks like harsh light. You did well. Bird could use more sharpening to my eyes and I see a little dust bunny just right on the bird. Being a perch man ;-) I would prefer a less dominant perch.

    Hi Judy,
love the pose and BG, did well, bird is a bit soft in this one, I think due to slow ss. I would take advantage of D3 by cranking up the ISO to 3200 for this shot for faster shutter speed. TFS
