    Last weekend I cold make this picture of this sparrow . The weather was cloudy but the light was nice en soft.
    a bite too dark but the picture come out nice I think!



    iso 200 f 7.1 1/200 ev + 1/3 at 700 mm 500 + 1.4ex

    Willem, the light looks good here, and I like the background, sharpness, and composition. It's not the ideal perch, I suppose, but it does work for an environmental-type shot.

    Cute little sparrow. OK BG. Ugly perch! With a small subject on a large horizontal perch I always find the comp stronger when the perch is anchored along the bottom edge of the frame. In this case I would crop to just above the white blotch (keeping a small amount of the shade for interest sake). I would also clone or patch out the floating white debris at right.

    Thanks for the reactions so far.

    This is one off the most regular birds around her in holland. We don't have a lot off exotic looking bird here :(

    Birds don't need to be exotic to look beautiful, and this guy certainly is a charming little fellow. Besides, we don't get this species here so it is exotic as far as I am concerned!!:)
