I went to bed too early last night.......if I'd have seen this I would have slept serenely.....and dreamt of all those artistic images you post. I especially like the colors with this one.

Fabs, I knew this was yours by looking at the thumb. The wonderful warm glow is fantastic. The detail in the BG is just enough to create the feel of "place" while not distracting from the soft whites on the egret. The egret looks as if it is just enjoying the peacefulness of the evening. Love it!

Fabs, I hang out at Eager To Learn, so I just now saw this beautiful image. I notice you used a 1.7X with the 70-200/2.8. I have the same lens, the VR version, on a D70s body and would like more length. I've wondered if I could successfully use a 1.7 or a 2.0 with my lens. What is your advice? I hope this "off topic" question is OK here.

Wendel, mine is the VR version, it works great, since it is a 2.8 lens, focusing is still doable :)

    Thanks all for your comments!

Thanks, Fabs, sounds like the thing for me to do. I'll try to talk up a birthday present -- for me. I have no doubt that it will magically transform my images into ones like yours (I wish!).
