    Default Gadwall in Flight

Took a while to get one with full down stroke!

5D MKII + 500 f/4IS + 1.4X TC. f/5.6 1/5000sec ISO 800 (could have dropped the ISO but 5DMKII files are very clean it makes no difference). sw DPP

    Hope you like it

Correction: This is a female Gadwall, sorry for the confusion :)

Wow...like this a lot, love the sharpness, the feather details, the color, the catch light in the eye, and the full wing down position. Also like the gray water background. Maybe a little space off the left and more on the right.

The bird seem to be flying parallel to you but does the head seem a bit looking away, or am I just imagine thing?

Super flying posture Arash, and this is really pin sharp. The shoveller is seperated from the BG so well. Well captured.

Arash, I like the full down stroke and it was worth waiting for. Very nice sharp details and clean BG. I like the way you framed it tight but not too tight.:)

I like the full down stroke, the pin sharpness, the colors, soft light, and the grayish water BG. Looks like the 5DMKII is not that bad after all for BIF. Very well done.

Arash, I'll just echo the others and congratulate you on a fine shot. Great job with the light and sharpness and well-presented here too.

    Cheers,

Thanks guys for nice comments, looks like it is actually a Gadwall given the reddish patch on the wing, not very good at IDing ducks :D

Hey Arash, you might consider another edit of the species as I think you have a female Gadwall here. The black blotch on the bill of Mallards is on in the mid-region, on Gadwall most of the top is black with the orange only on the sides. The speculum is a bit atypical for either but looks more Gadwall like to me as do those rusty feathers.
