My daughter in law loves hydrangeas. I took this a couple years ago. It was sitting in a vase on her mantle in front of a mirror. Can't remember all I did to it but I think there was posterization and know there was some color painting because I was reflected in the mirror.

I know you wanted us to post the origianls for comparison, but can't do that until at least tomorrow because of posting limits.

Hazel, I love the colors and the frame adds some interest. It was drawing too much attention since the corner was crooked. I took it into CS5 and tried the new Puppet tool-which I never used before. I have not read anything about it and this was my first try-so thank you for the play, hope you don't mind. I could have taken some time to get it exact but I think that it fits the image like this.

Fine with me. Funny, as many times as I've looked at this, I had never seen that crookedness. thanks.

Hazel, You should be able to post the original in the pane right under your first post if you would like.:)

There is something mixed up in the definitions here. On the macro/floral forum I did that a couple days ago and Jules wrote back that it was against the rules and not to do that again. She considered the original post as a second one for the day and therefore taking advantage of the rules. I hadn't thought it was breaking rules because it was the original of my posted photo for comparison purposes. Maybe the moderators could get together and decide on what is correct??

this is sort of the original. I did just a bit of PS work before this, but you can see people reflected in the mirros and see how the painting worked. (I'll have to check that mirror frame. It's an antique and may be a bit bent/crooked on its own.)

Hazel, The Macro forum is different. You are not manipulating the original. In OOTB sometimes it is very helpful to see the original that is why you are permitted to post it here.:)

The rules are made by the owners and the moderators follow the rules. Each gallery is permitted one post per 24 hours per member(I believe that forum participants are only allowed 1 image per 48 hours)
At the top of this Forum are the Forum Guidelines are posted since they differ from the regular galleries. Hope I have cleared that up for you.:)

The frame may indeed be crooked on it's own. I just found it a slight bit distracting since I couldn't seem to get my eye off of it. But that doesn't mean you have to change it. It is your art and I am only trying to let you know what MY eye sees.:)

I like the colors and effects used here, Hazel. I might only wish for a little more room on the left.

Hazel, I agree with Cindy about the room on the left but I love the posterization (esp. on the vase)and the soft colors. :)

I like the processing you used here--most effective.

Hazel, I love the painterly look and feel. Nice soft look to the flowers and I love what your treatment did with the vase and leaves.
