This image was made at the St. Augustine A.F. last weekend. I wanted to try for an extreme close up so i stacked a 1.4tc and a 2xtc.

    MK IV
    500mm x 1.4tc x 2tc
    F 8.0
    1/800
    Iso 800
    Full Frame

Excellent Adams !!! Love seeing stack converters Use a good technique and will come up with a sharp image !! Would have pointed the camera just a little higher to have more of the parent and avoid the chicks beak !!! Like it a lot !!!

Lovely interaction, Adams. I agree with Al's suggestion of removing the second chicks beak. I would burn in the paler areas in the BG. DOF has covered the area of interest very well.

    Adam,
It was nice meeting you at the Gatorland yesterday. Hope you got some amazing pictures.
This is a great shot, never tried stacking them before. Like the interaction.

Great shot! Sharpness is pretty impressive considering the combo of teleconverters. I would have framed this shot a bit more upwards (more of the adult and less of the chicks) and a bit more to the left as well. Love the interaction!

Great interaction! Like the tight crop and the fact you got both eyes in the image.

Adams, great use of the stacked converters for this intimate shot. I think Al has a good point about moving the composition upward a bit.

Thank you all for the comments, here is a new version with about 1/2 inch cropped off the bottom and a little off the right side.
