Just got to Moab late yesterday afternoon with my tour. After dinner and 4 hours of sleep....headed out for some night fun! I am always impressed by the amount of stars I can see out here! The brighter area on the LR butte....is the city lights of Moab! Off in a few hours to hopefully get a few more.....but clouds are rolling in...Yikes!
Canon 1 D Mark lll with the 17-40mm lens at 17mm for 30 seconds at f4 and ISO 6400 all tripod mounted and painted with flashlight.
Roman, As H. said -you did not disappoint! I like the composition and the way the cloud on a diagonal adds some interest. Nice work. Looking forward to more.:)
Painting with light here, definitely. Love the delicate tones on the buttes and the stars are almost glimmering. You need a lot of patience and the ability to work without sleep … but the rewards are great, especially for those of us viewing. :D
Hi Roman,
Not much more than I can add that has not already been said above. Only that I wish I was part of your tour group right now! Keep them coming. Enjoy & have a great time.

Hi Roman, Nice job on this technically with warm subtle colors on balanced rock. The milky way and stars make this one for me. The lights from Moab are soft and not overpowering. looking forward to seeing more...
Thanks all. Michael...I have a 10 million candle power flashlight on this trip. Morkel....still in Utah and not much time to correct images. I have one at ISO 3200.....stars were more vivid in the 6400 shot....and noise was just as managable on the ISO 6400 as the 3200....but will double check when I get home on Monday.
