    I know there is a lot of empty sky in the right half of this image but I want to exploit the angle of the bird's flight by putting the body and wings on diagonals. At the same time I don't want the bird centered which would happen if I used the actual diagonals. I like this effect. Wonder what others think?

    Canon 20 D w 70-300mm IS at 100mm HH, 1/1500 @ f/8.0, Av, Evaluative -1, ISO 200
    Used Fabs' contracted selection tech. for brightness-contrast & mod. usm in PS Elements.

    Hey Murray!

    Looks good to me! You did a nice job with the techs and the composition here. The light was not at the best angle for you but not too bad on the shadows. I do think the bird does look a little small in the frame though. You certainly are on the right track.

    If this was my image I would keep the crop and position exactly as is. Sharpness and exp are great by the way. Agree with George that the subject size is a little smallish.

    Increased size slightly and lightened shadows a bit. Is it any better?
