Thanks for the free upload link to Fotosketcher Ms. Denise.
I tried this with a sunflower and hated it so I tried it with a bird. Not sure...
Red-billed Tropicbird from Midway...

Artie, I like it. What's up with the left edge and URC? At first I thought maybe the eye completely clear of the effect but the more I look at it the more I like it as is. It seems to fit right. I love the angled brush strokes and the way the LR side seems to fade away. Nicely done.
Thanks Denise. That edge stuff crept in from Foto Sketcher.... I thought that I had cropped it all away but I guess not  :)

Still not sure about the sketching effects. There is perhaps too much white in the bottom right hand corner and some of the graphic feel of the bird's face has lost its impact because of the filter. So for me, perhaps the wrong effect for the image or the wrong image for the effect.
Thakns for sharing your thoughts Hilary. I am not sure that mine are all that different from yours at least with respect to this image.

Love the colors and sketch look here, Artie, but I would kind of like to see a catchlight or something in the eye to give it more life. Nice closeup view.
