    Default Snowy Egret

    Olympus E-30; ISO 200; 1/500; f/9

Unplanned, opportunistic photo taken on a walk on a sea wall. The snowy was below me and all I could do - quickly - was to hold the camera as low as it would go, and shoot! I got three shots before the snowy decided I had had enough, and away it went. Please let me have comments and critique.

The windblown(?) feathers and the brightly contrasting yellow feet really appeal to me. I do believe a bit more space on the left side would be helpful to the image. I like it . . .

Hi Phil I like the fluffing pose and nailed the exposure, not sure what compensation you used but was the correct one !!! ... could try getting a little more white detail in PS

Pose wise is best to have more room in front of the bird than to the rear !! Quick reaction got you a good one !!! Congrats !!

I really like the exposure on the whites as well as the nice eye contact and ha.

Good for you to be so quick.

    Phil,

For a grab and shoot - well done. Whites are good and love the pose with nice view of the feet. Like it as presented.

Hi Phil, Agree about being a good grab shot. Detail is there but a bit more could be pulled out and agree with a bit more room on the left....
