Same individual as my other post a few days ago. Here it is showing its' true colours and belting out one of its' very familiar calls. I'm not sure its bill can open any wider!:)

Canon 40D + 100-400L @ 370mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f/6.3, ISO 400, -0.3 EC, natural light, handheld, about 85% full frame, audio used to lure the sparrow onto the perch.

Wow, looks like he is going at it with some gusto, really like the perch, and the singing pose. Nice image.

Pretty impressive singing pose. Beautiful perch and BG. Is this a set up with audio?

How beautiful! I love it! The perch is really nice with all the "stuff" on it.

How did you use the audio? I put up perches, but the birds always land on something next to them instead.:(

    Daniel,

    Lovely bird, perch.
I wish the tail was in focus. But it is still a darn good shot that I wish it was in my portfolio.

Awesome shot, nice smooth bokeh, great sharpness and excellent composition. And, of course, great bird and pose.

    Daniel:

Lovely techs, pose, action. The attention is so drawn to the singing/head, that I didn't notice the OOF tail until Troy mentioned it. I think the image still works fine because of the strong center of attention on the bird, and the detailed perch, tends to keep our focus in the front plane of the image, so to speak.

We will have to start calling you: sparrow-dude :D

    Cheers

    Randy

    Daniel
Particularly like the composition, HA, and how bkgd matches colors of the bird and perch
On my monitor, the details (bird's breast) in this post seem slightly softer than prior post.
Very well done - definitely a keeper

I like the soft light, sharpness, singing pose and BG. I might only try to get more details in the blacks.

As mentioned a nice BG and pose! Also credit must be given for getting these ground feeders up on a perch! Nice work!

Perfect for me. With the subject so close not even f/20 would get the tail close to sharp (with it angled away) and I am in the "who cares?" camp. As always. Get the eye sharp and I am happy.

    Your perch?

    Hey thanks everyone!

How did you use the audio? I put up perches, but the birds always land on something next to them instead.:(
Jean, here are two threads that may just answer your questions:). The first one was started just a few days ago about attracting birds on the right perch, and the second a small article I wrote about the use of audio:

    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=63115

    http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=37765

Thanks Artie for answering Lorant's question for me.

    Your perch?
I'm not sure what your question above means though...

Great in every respect, especially the open beak and direct eye contact.
