I have just purchased a new point and shoot for my wife and I was familiarizing myself and showing her things about the camera at the same time. All of a sudden a woodpecker landed on the suet and once again I had to shoot through the WINDOW>

I didn't even have a chance to check the settings on the camera.

It may be a little soft. But I will take what I got.

    Panasonic DMC-FZ35 (Point and Shoot)
    5-5-2010
    Landscape Mode
    1/125
    ISO 80
    68.7mm
    Pattern

It was obviously cropped with a little cleanup and smoothing the background. Not much other color work done.

Hi Vince Might be from window but there is a strong cast? Would also lower the saturation !!

Check camera settings for quality, if shooting jpeg the camera will do some processing and might be in enhance saturation, color etc.

This is a capable camera, do learn the controls and strong/weak points. I used one for macro with great results !! About the only down side are the shutter lag and noise !!

Hi Vince, Agree with Alfred regarding the caste and the saturation. In the repost I tried to reduce the two. There is also alot of noise present and I tried to take that out and was unsuccessful.
Shooting through a window can be tricky and sometimes causes unexpected results.
As Al stated knowing your camera is important and manipulating the settings for the best possible results...

Hi Vince - like any other camera need to know its weakness's and strong points - agree with the comments above - landscape mode was probably not the best choice for shooting mode.
It is quite noisy and does appear to be a colour cast - can be the nature of the beast with a point and shoot under some conditions.
