Hi, Nice bird and not so common on the east coast. I realise you didn't have enough lense to get a closeup but I cropped the image down to show you a tighter and I think stronger view. As very often happens shooting in foliage there is green reflected onto the bird. I took out a slight caste also.
Difficult to shoot in that type of environment and and get an image with no distractions...
I didn't crop this closely because it almost always turns out some little mistake. I also didn't notice the green cast until your edit. Good of you to point that it, I will watch for that.
Here in the urban areas of the Netherlands it's a very common bird, not quite as common as the great tit but close.
I can't see the original thumbnail, but I like Dave's repost. Nice HA and eye contact, perch, and pose. :)
I wouldn't pass up a chance to capture this little cutie! :D
I don't know where you are in the Netherlands, but here south of the border, they are also quite common and I see them in my garden and on feeders frequently. Nevertheless, they are delightful little birds - full of character - and I like your shot because with the wildly fluffy feathers, you have captured some of that character. Nice to see .
Like the flush pose very much and the re post is excellent !!! .. image stood well the crop !!! For these little guys there is no substitute for focal length !!! .. you could give the bird a little more space cropping form the right/down .. then place in the lower right corner ! Small birds in frame always look best toward one corner !!!
