This was taken in the rainforest of La Selva in Costa Rica. As I mentioned in other posts photographing in the rainforest presents it's own challenges with exposure and lighting and then to find the birds in dense foliage. I found it very interesting and loved the challenge it presented not to mention the many beautiful species to be found in this gorgeous country. In a perfect situation I would have liked the beak to have been free and not intersecting with the tree trunk but I was so excited to see this beauty that I was thrilled and to get him out in the open,l Hope you will enjoy, BTW this is a male green legged honeycreeper.
