i like the processing on this and the darker bg really makes the bird pop. i'm not sure i'm sold on the crop. it certainly follows the ROT rule, but i'd almost be tempted to crop out the leg that is showing and a little off the right. be curious to see what others say. nice job on the exp and colors!!

Thank you Harold. I am having trouble with the crop as well, a bit lost.

I didn't like the leg showing so I eliminated it. Doing this centers the head somewhat but doesn't bother me in this case. I added a bit more room on the left quickly.
    Nice exposure,lighting and HA....

I think Dave nailed the crop Troy. However, the sharpness and BG contrast are awesome.
    Congrats,

Thank you Dave. I wasn't sure about the square crop.
Now two people like it, hopefully more will too. :)

I like the OP with a bit more room in front of bird. Cropping legs is fine as long as you don't do it at the joint. Good breeding colors, which is what the image is about, me thinks.

I'm liking seeing more of the bird The crop is different and find it appealing, not your everyday crop !!!

Going to the extreme as Dave posted also works !! Don't think much in between would do all that well !!! Excellent image !!!

Good comments and subject is exposed well, crop is the challenge here. Like the first one best but Dave is providing options.

Jeff, I do like Dave's crop as well. Tough choice.
