Default Old Sketch - Song Sparrow

I used an old paper texture I had to give this an old, worn feel. The sketch look was done using the colored pencil filter and then converting to B&W. I also tried color toning it and adding more textures, but in the end I liked this plainer version best. Any comments and suggestions would be most appreciated!

    Christopher,

Greetings. I think the worn feeling is carried in the paper texture, but the sketch itself could use some sharpening/light additional contrast. (and I think you can guess at the bird angle comments if this were in Avian or ETL ;) )...

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Christopher, I think that the paper BG is a bit strong and is overpowering the delicate bird and perch. I do like the concept-maybe a smaller crinkle size on the BG paper or maybe a little more contrast to the bird and perch to help separate the bird from the BG. I know you are going for a softer look here so the contrast may not be the answer-let's see what others say.:)

    Nice image and application, Christopher.

I would have to agree with the others however. On first look it feels too soft to me.

I would also crop about 1/2 the area between the lower left leaf and the LB.

But ... your image ... your vision. ;)

Thanks very much for the comments, Michael, Denise, and Mark. I'll revisit this when I get a chance and see what I can do.
