It was great fun shooting with Doug Brown the past couple days as we had a good time shooting these beautiful birds.
I also have to thank my other friend Steve Metildi for getting us onto this bird his knowledge is outstanding and helpful.:)

Seems to be a nice influx of these birds here this year. Great singing pose. You got the perch I was after.

Nothing but positives from me on this one, Jim. Nicely exposed, composed, complimentary colors, and the singing pose completes it.

    James:

Lovely techs, beautiful bird, nice singing pose.

I wish the bird was just a bit more to right in the frame, seems a bit crowded. Doesn't seem to bother anyone else however.

    Cheers

    Randy

James, I like the singing/calling pose, and you have captured excellent detail and colours on the grosbeak. I really like the light too, and Im going with Randy here, thats its a tad tight on the left. There's more positives, so congrats on a fine image.

Everything is in harmony in this stunning image. Ciolor, Bg , detail and exposure are all spot on.

I agree with Randy, the composition just does not work for myself personally. BG, sharpness and exposure are excellent.

    James
The colors, pose and sharpness of the bird are fantastic. Lovely clean bkgd.
For me, the blurred perch with larger details in RLC detracts from the image, as it draws my eyes away from the bird. I would have cropped in from the right side, putting the bird into a more central tighter vertical composition. But others don't seem to mind.
    Nicely done.

Gorgeous Jim!!! If anything would have liked to see the lower part of the perch sharp but this is minor.
