Went for a morning paddle and found this guy feeding along an exposed shoal near Beaufort, NC. 40D, Bigma @ 500mm, iso 800, 1/1000, f/10.0, EV +.67. Selective sharpening and noise reduction in photoshop, plus curves adjustment.

Reason: typo'd iso, added shutter speed
Hi Bob Did not see the shutter speed listed but seems low !! Not sure I wold go to ISO 100 particularly from a boat !! Not on a calibrated monitor right now but seems a little over !!! .. try setting up on sun angle when you can, right side of head is in shadows !!! ... that should be easy to fix in PS !!!
btw aperture wise not sure I would like stopping down so much, will bring the bg more into play !!!
Hi Bob - Id venture to say the point of focus was not on the head/eye area - appears somewhat softer than other parts of the bird.
Agree with AL F10 is probably overkill here - I certainly stop down quite a bit but only when there is nothing in the BG to worry about.
Keep em coming :)
