This is a follow-up image to the Green Heron nestlings I posted the other day. Getting Mama Heron and her 3 little ones to look in the same direction simultaneously is a daunting chore but after a few hours of waiting, here is a capture I made. Not the best artistically but is a representation of nest activity.

    Olympus E-30
    50-200mm ZD lens
    EC-1.4 Converter
    ISO 200
    1/40
    f/5.0
    Matrix metering
    Aperture Priority
    EV +0.30
    208mm

Love this one Milt and they are a big deal !!! Find nesting images so difficult and time consuming !!! Might just darken the corners some so the bright areas won't grab attention !!! ... I'm sure you will be making lots more and once they are big enough to move around will be even more fun !!!

This is an absolutely fantastic shot. How lucky you were (with some hard work) to be able to photograph such a great scene. Congratulations.

Hi Milt, definately not an easy scene to find and be lucky to get a clean shot into the nest. Good exposure and I like the fact you can see all the chicks eyes and their pointing in the same direction.
Al made a good observation regarding the darkening of the corners to tone down some of the brighter corners...

Simply an amazing capture. Thanks for sharing it. I'll leave the techs to those made above.

Awesome capture Milt, as Al says you'll have a ball watching these guys grow up. Only wished I lived closer.
    Big time congrats;)

Sweet photo Milt....They are so cute and growing quickly. Should be even more fun when they start walking around and get fuzzier

Hi Milt, looks like you and Vilma really worked these subjects over this past week, and now I understand why: they're too cute!!!!! Again, thanks for sharing these marvelous images with all of us, and giving me a sneak preview. I'm sure you agree with Vilma's assessment that it's a tremendous challenge to get these fellas to pose and stay still but, judging from the postings you both have made, it's well worth it. Congratulations!!

Hope to see you at Wako again soon,

    Ricardo
