    Default Tricolored Heron Sketch

From my only Florida shoot a year and a half ago (on a break from a business trip to KSC)... Merritt Island. The processing was just curves and masked layer blending and a monochrome conversion. Isolated detail at different levels with curves on monochrome layer, masked to combine, exclusion/invert a couple times for certain areas, blended back color. Painting with adjustment layers and blending (maybe 25 or so layers in all).

    Thanks for looking, commenting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Michael, Nice HK BG. The raised foot is good and I like the way it is reflected in the water. I wish the bird were facing you more when you took the image. I may have left a bit more room in front of the bird if it were mine(personal preference). I think the PP work looks very nice and I like the sketched look you created-very unique.

    Denise,

Greetings. Thanks much for the comments. Yesterday, I thought I'd try a little tighter, today, I like the original crop with more room (maybe too much?).

    Cheers,

Hi Michael, Very nice colors and sketch look. I love the raised foot and open beak. I like your original crop just fine. I do however find all the grasses and sticks quite distracting.

    Nice image and application, Michael.

Agree with Christopher on the original crop.

I might have removed, or cloned over, the dark blurred grasses on the left center border, but ... your image ... your vision.

I woke up this morning and I think I'm back to the original crop... Denise, Christopher, Mark thanks for, er, helping me with this ;).

Mark, thanks for pointing out the dark grasses on the left. Was trying to figure out how to simplify the foliage and that part seems to be the worst of it. Thanks much.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-
