Here is another of the dozen turkey vultures that roosted high above me in a tree two days ago. This image has been cropped and sharpened only (in contrast to the extensive tweaking I gave the bird in the other post), proving that my PP skills and my judgment need work. For I hope you'd agree this bird looks better than my post of two days ago. The pose is similar, but it is a different bird, by the way. I'm trying to get it right. Please comment.

    Thanks,
    Wendell

Hi Wendell You did get this one right !!!! PS looks fine, I find when we try to do too much in PS things can get ugly !!! Here about all you could have done different is taking a step to your right so the bird's head would be all with blue bg !!! Got a keeper ... and still think they are handsome birds :)

You made it as lovely as it can be - for the bird - Al's comments notwithstanding. The only thing I might tweak is cloning out the branch pointing at the neck. I like the leaf frame - for what it is.

Hi Wendell, agree with Al's comments and Cal's comment regarding the twig. In this case the branches are bright but more importantly not blown. Also agree that a slight move to the right would of taken out the merge of the head. I admit sometimes easy to say but not easy to see with this type of image...

Hi Wendell - doing well - I think you can pull more details out of him with some additional sharpening.
As always I have OVERDONE it - so that it is easy to see the difference.
    :)
