Really, very nice. I love the colours of the bird and the crop is pleasing to my eye at least.

At the risk of suggesting that equipment has something to do with good photography, the more I see images like this, the more I realise I need the 500mm F4 IS!

Fabulous portrait!! Great pose and the feather detail rocks!

If it were mine, I'd take a sliver off the right for a stronger compo.

    Big congratulations!

Stunning photo. Are you sure this isn't a painting?? Can't add much more to what has already been said above.

This is splendid......the detail and colors are the best that I've ever seen with this species. It reminds me of a fine painting......and I sure wish it were mine. Well done.

Thanks for all the nice comments, guys. This guy (or gal?) landed nearby for only a few moments before taking off again. It was a pleasant surprise when I opened it up on the computer to see that the plane of focus was good enough to get the whole bill. The very tip is out, but I'll take it for now. ;-)

    Regards,,,,,David

As astounding as this is, I would love to see it desaturated a bit and with the contrast reduced a bit. I relly do love it as above. It is stunning. later and love, artie
