These images were taken last week in La Selva, Costa Rica. they are nocturnal frogs and using flash on them is very injurious to their eyes. It was a wonderful to have been able to find these two in the daylight and to capture these images without having to use flash. They are so beautiful and it was a real exciting experience to have the opportunity to see them.

Judy, WOW! I love how they jump off the page. The dark BG really adds a lot of pop to this. Very nice comp and sharp details.

couldn't have done better if you had posed them! clarity and color. the roughness of the branch contrasts well with the smoothness and clownlike colors of the frogs.

Super colors, detail and BG. They look almost un real and vibrant. Lovely shot.

Phenomenal image, Judy! I agree - the pose couldn't be better! Only thing I see that might make it even stronger (and it's totally optional) is to clone the stuff below the branch on the right underside. That was the only thing that pulled my eye from those two lovely frogs!

Many thanks everyone for your comments and for taking the time to look. I sure do appreciate it.

Julie I did consider doing that but you see so much of this in the rainforest that I thought it might appear more real of the areas of Costa Rica. But I do see your thoughts on this and many thanks.

All the great points have already been made so all I can say is this shot is fantastic! I have friends that breed these and obviously they are beautiful but it's great to see a shot of some living in the wild.
