I spent over five hours in two days trying to shoot a good image of the green heron chicks at Wako. For me, they are very cute. Alfred was right, this is very hard, but I think I was able to get two decent shots. Here is the first one. I hope you like it.

    D700 300 f/4 +14tc (420mm), ISO 1000 1/60 F/10, HH.

Viveza, vignette blur using Color Efex Pro, sharpening. Again, thanks Ricardo (I love you!)

Simply beautiful Vilma. Great effects with the vignette. subjects are sharp and they all have great eye contact.

Vilma this beyond decent and you did end up with three good head angle/poses !! Would blur the surrounding area dark for drawing attention to the chicks !!! Big Congrats on this one !!!

Hi Vilma, nice capture having good exposure with all 3 looking at the viewer. Your repost seems significantly better and directs the eye towards the subjects. The OP seems a bit flat and doesn't have the same impact.

Vilma, I guess we were at the nest at almost the same time. I was showing Ricardo my images and you were shooting yours. I like your blurring treatment of our little friends. It makes them pop.

Dave, Stuart and Milt, thank so much for your very kind comments. Milt, Ricardo told me that you showed him your photo of the chicks, and that he loved it. Now I understand why!

Repost works for me - gotta love it. Gorgeous.
I coaxed a little more texture out of it - more than you want to - its fairly subtle which is why I have overdone it so that hopefully you can see it with the small file.
