    Default White great white

    Canon EOS 50D, Canon EF 400/5.6, +2EV

I was the only photograph in Gatorland rookery when raining in the middle of March. So surprised becouse I got one of the most unusual pics that day. Greetings to Mike Godwin who stop with me for few words. Day later I got several (for me) unbelieveble pics of hunting Caracara at Viera Wetlands. I will upload it next time. All comments are welcome.

High key, sharp eye and beak. Would prefer more HA as the bird is almost looking away.It might be my monitor, however The Torso whites, could probably reveal more detail, not seeing much from here.
Thanks for sharing, and look forward to your viera photographs as well.

I agree, especially the whites on the torso. Try using recovery slider a bit more, should be able to pull back some details.

    Excellent detail as noted!

Bird looks a little dark to me. Might try bringing in the white point a bit in Levels as you still have some
headroom and this is a brilliant white bird. At the same time, might try selectively toning down the brighter area along the top edge of the bird to even out the brightness and provide more contrast against the high key background.

Given the flat light, I don't think you'll get much more detail in the whites. Flat light means fewer shadows to help define the details. Agree about the HA.

Wonderful shot. But how you can make an shot like this with 400mm?

Very interesting crop with excellent detail and this image really shows off the mating colors on the beak. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Agree with comments and main thing for me is the head angle, with the bird looking our way a bit the image feels more intimate !!

Excellent tech settings and quality !!!

Excellent detail around the head and beak, and I do like those colours. I agree with Al regarding the HA.
