The same bird from my previous post just after launching. Some of the perches and BG from the walkway at Mankwe are just stunning.

Pretty cool, love the dive pose, perch and BG. just wish the head was a bit sharper, maybe the focus was on the wing and you ran out of dof or these guys are so fast even 1/3200sec is not enough(?)

Great wing position and diving pose, wonderful BG, and excellent exposure and composition!
Agree it looks like the focus was on the near wing

Love the downward motion of the bird, off the perch. Perch and BG are super. Agree with previous comments, and yes these are very fast birds. Thanks for sharing, Tony.

Hi Tony, I like the forward wing position, and very well timed for the take off. Yes, the perches at Mankwe have that "fossilised" look, and you are showing that nicely. Although the PK is a tad central, its difficult to comp these very fast flyers after take off. Taking a bit off the right would lose your perch appeal, but I would maybe take a bit off the top. You certainly nailed these take off shots on your first visit - sure you havent been to Mankwe before ;)

Tony, people have mentioned the sharpness, but I like the composition and love the background. These guys must be quite tough to photograph.
