Glades Update & Broward Update 5/4/10

Avocets in breeding plumage at the ecopond spotted today. Plenty of osprey and hawk action as well. Anhinga trail pretty dead.

Lots of burrowing owl activity at Brian Piccolo park today. RSH sighted and for the first time, saw scarlet tanager chasing a blue jay near the tennis court entrance. Could not get a shot as they were too hyper.

Lots of loggerhead shrikes and blue jays as well. Also some occasional monk parakeet photo ops as they are nesting and will perch on trees from time to time.

Thanks for the update Mike ... what about the mosquitoes :D ..got to be brutal :)
