Default Spoonbill Closeup - Save or Delete?

I caught this shot on the upper right corner of frame, it filled about 2/3 of the entire frame. Since I clipped the upper wing off the frame, I decided to crop in this way to focus on the head and neck of the spoonbill since it was sharp and have the feathers surround it.

This is a highly unusual image, and well rendered! IMO the short DOF throwing wings OOF does not matter, as well as the cut wings, as attention is held by the sharp eye. Keeper for sure, but you could explore additional compositions/postprocessing for a better image!

I find your crop choice highly appealing. I just find it dark overall...you could lighten it up - perhaps as a true high-key image (BG pure white, or very close to it).

    Short answer: keep.:)

I like it and definetly agree with the brighter high key approach.

I would keep it for sure, in fact i love it . I agree about the high key option and I suggest a different croping if you have more room at the right, something like this

Definitely keep it. Unusual but the bird's head is very well framed by the wings on both sides, perfect. A bit more room on the right would have been great but I understand this probably wasn't available.
